Vegas opens a new chapter in the remarkable career of Martyn Joseph. Take your seats for the rollercoaster ride of light and shade we have come to expect from the powerful Cardiff singer songwriter. Never allowing himself to be pigeon holed, Vegas steps out and makes some bold statements of Martyn’s intent to keep pushing the boundaries. More electric and edgy, sometimes fragile, sometimes robust, Vegas has a transatlantic yet universal feel - from the title track triggered by 48 hours in the glitzy gambling capital of the world to the anthemic Kindness -prompted by the homeless on a freezing Toronto street. A remarkable collection of songs wrapped in an edgy sound and passionate feel. It’s beautifully played by Martyn and supporting cast, with a ton of things to say. It will surely be a defining an album, even after 25 years.

Recorded at the Greenbelt Festival on August 25th 2006, MJGB06 is a passionate and edgy recording of MJ doing what he does best; taking a guitar and that ‘voice’ and connecting with a huge crowd in a way that makes it feel like he is playing in your front room. Ruffling a few feathers and smoothing others, there is a cross section of material.

Deep Blue
‘Deep Blue’ is Martyn’s sixteenth studio album. (with his live collections, collaborations with ‘FFA’ and ‘Best Of’ it comes to 22!). Those who have heard it before the release are talking about it being the man’s best yet. Whilst retaining the ‘Whoever It Was...’ feel of one man and a guitar slicing through your life and emotions, it takes that and adds a little more. Beautiful arrangements by Nigel Hopkins, and, on some tracks bass and drums from Andy Coughlan and Ryan Aston, add power to MJ’s ‘one take and don’t mess with it’ sound. With artwork by Juno award winning Canadian designer Michael Wrycraft, this will end up a classic.
